Website Update for 2026!
Happy New Year!
I’m emailing with a quick update to the SCA Revision Website — we’ve just rolled out a refreshed design to make the site feel more modern, clearer to use, and (most importantly) quicker to navigate.
A Big Thank You
I just want to start by saying a genuine thank you for supporting SCA Revision. The most valuable driver of improvement we have is you — the people using the platform day-to-day. Your feedback doesn’t go into a void; it directly shapes our priorities and the features we build next. Please keep sharing what you need, because it’s the fastest way we can make the portal better for you (and everyone revising alongside you).
What’s changed?
A cleaner, faster portal layout
The portal has been redesigned so it’s easier to find what you need at a glance, with improved layout and clearer pathways into the key areas of the site. Below you can find our old layout, which was a little clunky and inefficient. It also didn’t scale particularly well on mobile devices.
Old Portal
Below you can find an image of our new portal, this is designed to be much more user friendly with everything laid out more logically and quick access buttons available to hand when you land on the page on mobile devices. We’ve also added a new ‘Random Case’ feature for users who just want to try their hand at a random case quickly.
New Portal
Quick links to the most-used features
A lot of you regularly jump between the same sections (cases, videos, mock exams, etc.), so we’ve added quick-start buttons for commonly accessed tools — helping you get where you want to go in fewer clicks.
More importantly, these links are now easily accessible on mobile devices without having to scroll down.
New: “My Progress”
You’ll also notice a new My Progress section. This is something many of you have asked for, and it’s designed to help you track your revision over time.
Right now, this will allow you to:
Tick off completed cases
From the Cases Selection page
Start building a clear picture of what you’ve covered (and what’s left)
This feature is still under development, and we’ll keep expanding it. The aim is to add more tracking metrics over time so you can see:
where you’re strongest,
and what might need more attention next.
For now all of the information can be accessed under the “My Progress” Buttons on the Portal or in the header.
An example of the portal as it stands right now. Future development will focus on expanding this by including more metrics.
Updated case pages + improved feedback system
We’ve also updated all case pages to a new format, and added a way for you to quickly flag anything you disagree with (or think needs review) in the management or marking sections. See the image below for an example of what this looks like.
This change is about quality and accuracy at scale, rather than shifting responsibility.
With thousands of trainees using the portal regularly (many with different specialist interests and up-to-date clinical knowledge), you can sometimes spot small issues, unclear wording, or edge cases that we may have missed. We genuinely want that input because it helps keep the content as accurate, fair, and useful as possible for everyone.
If you click the feedback links on a case page, it will open a short form that sends the details directly to us. We’ll then review it and either:
Update the content, or
Respond to clarify the reasoning where needed.
All The Best
Before I sign off, I just want to wish you all a prosperous 2026. Good luck with your revision and your upcoming SCA exams — I know how much work goes into preparing, and I really do wish you the very best. Here’s to a strong start to the year and a confident exam season ahead.
Best wishes,
Gethin Lane
